Tarot 101 & 201

Tarot 101: Beyond Fortune Telling – Tuesday, October 15 4:30 PM
Tarot 101 is a lecture-style program with Q&A woven throughout. Kate Sheridan, (AKA the Modern Laundress) a tarot reader and astrologer, will cover basic tarot theory, giving you a bird’s eye view of the Major and Minor Arcana. We’ll approach the tarot holistically, as a symbolic and archetypal language. As with any language, you won’t become fluent in reading tarot overnight, but you will leave the program with a clear framework to begin your own tarot practice at home.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a notebook and pen, plus your favorite tarot deck (if you have one). Although this program will not include personalized readings or card interpretations from Kate, she will demonstrate the nuts and bolts of how to conduct a reading, and, time permitting, you’ll be invited to pull cards for yourself at the end of the evening.
This program isn’t about “fortune-telling,” psychic predictions, or pinning down “what the cards mean.” This is about empowering YOU to explore new avenues of self-reflection and personal growth!

Tarot 201: The Fool’s Journey – Tuesday, October 22 4:30 PM
Tarot 201 is for anyone who has previously attended Tarot 101 with Kate Sheridan, and/or gained basic tarot skills independently. If you’re familiar with the Major and Minor Arcana and you know how to shuffle and pull the cards, then you’re ready for 201!
This is a lecture-style program will explore in more depth the esoteric and spiritual principles behind the tarot, particularly the Major Arcana as seen through the lens of Jungian psychology. Taking us card-by-card along the Fool’s Journey, Kate will offer card interpretations that continue to move beyond “fortune-telling” and into the realm of conscious evolution and soul growth.
The evening will begin with a troubleshooting Q&A session, particularly for those who attended Tarot 101 on October 15th, so feel free to come prepared with questions! While this program is designed with relative beginners in mind, more intermediate tarot learners may benefit from this in-depth review of foundational concepts.
