CITY: Diane Francis, artist and educator

“I’m a Sculptor, Painter and Printmaker.. As for printmaking I adore it but woodcarving is my love. In the realm of woodcarving, my artistic journey is a dance with angles-a symphony of lines that breathe life into the wood. Each carve is a deliberate exploration, guided by the allure of angles that shape the essence of my creations. The interplay of light and shadow on these meticulously carved surfaces echoes the dynamic perspectives found in the architecture I adore. Inside the intricate world of woodcarving, angles become my storytellers, weaving narratives that resonate with the beauty found in every nuanced twist and turn.”

SEA: Cara Gonier, artist and art instructor

“The interpretation of Landscape is an infinite quest I must explore; deconstruct, refine, simplify, defy, blur, mark, scrape, saturate, desaturate… in essence, to paint the landscape in various and countless forms is to journal life in all it’s tenderness and boldness, it’s depth and light… The paintings are open to interpretation and I encourage the viewer to create their own journey in finding personal significance in connection to the art.”

Established in 2023, Cara founded and is the director of Rolling River Printmakers of New England; a New England Based group of professional exhibiting printmakers, highlighting traditional printmaking applications.
